Brant D. McKeever, 85, of Brighton, TN, passed away peacefully from this life, at his home with his family around him, to his Heavenly home on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2019. He was preceded in death by his treasured wife, Ethelda, of 59 years, in October, 2015.
Mr. McKeever was born in Danville, PA, and grew up in the town of Shamokin, PA. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps after graduating from high school, went through boot camp at Parris Island and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Millington, TN. He was always proud of his time in the service. After an honorable discharge, he went to work at the DuPont Chemical Company in Memphis, TN, and worked there until his retirement 36 years later. Brant loved camping, boating and riding his motorcycle, with his wife and kids right beside him in everything he did. He never met a stranger; they quickly became friends that he kept in touch with over the years. He loved making people laugh and tried to make sure everyone around him had a smile on their face. He was a fine example of a Godly husband, father and friend. His life was a glowing testimony to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brant always led by example, walking the walk while talking the talk. He was always an active member of his church, until his health deteriorated, and he could not attend, and taught Sunday School and sang in the choir and in special quartets and ensembles.
Brant is survived by four daughters, who cherished him and cared for him at home until he took his last breath: Candy (& Mike) Ramirez, of Munford, TN; Janice (& Jimmy) Glatt, his primary caregiver, of Brighton, TN; Melody (& Jim) Robie, of Evergreen, CO; and Penny (& Doug) Rogers, of Atoka, TN. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Mark Tesreau, Brad Tesreau, Tamra Tesreau Abernathy and D.J. Rogers; six great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 4th, 2019. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 5th, 2019. Visitation and funeral service will both be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN, 38133. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh LaGrange Rd., Memphis, TN.
