James Albert Sargent, 80, passed away July 6, 2019. He was born and raised in Memphis and grew up working at his fathers service stations. Jim started a successful appliance repair business, Kool Aire, where he worked until he retired. An avid gardener, he also loved working in his yard and was a member of Rosemark Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 20 years Marian and later by his second wife of 31 years, Marlyn; sons, Michael Sargent, Robert Sargent and a step-son, Darren Hensley.
He is survived by a daughter, Cissy Sargent Flesher; son, Jimmy Sargent; step-daughters, Sherri Hensley Cannon (Mark) and Robin Hensley Haner (David); twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 9, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens with interment to follow.
The family would like to acknowledge Maxine Maclin and Rena Hayes for the love and support they gave to Jim in the last years.
