Barbara Stinnes Lankford

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband Carlton Lankford, her sons Byron Mitchell, Theodore Lankford and Taurean Washington, her daughters Jacquelyn Stinnes, Andrea Rodgers, Suzann Lankford, Venita Stinnes and Sherronda Stinnes, her brothers Charly Lee Wells and Jackie Ray Wells, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her son Kelsey Cezanne Stinnes, her brothers Robert Earl Mitchell and Walter Wells Sr.

Barbara was born Willie Mae Mitchell on August 28,1945 in Memphis, TN to the late Mr. Willie Payne and the late Mrs. Magnolia Wells. She was the oldest of five children. She attended Hamilton High School and went on to become a seamstress at the Levi Strauss company for many years. Barbara was an outgoing and kind hearted spirit, always willing to help. She enjoyed music and horticulture.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 16 and became a faithful servant. In later years, she became a member of Germantown Christian Center under the guidance of Pastor Jack Hollis.
