He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Monica Ingram; his father, Dr. Charles Ingram; and his brother, Daniel Ingram.
Scott is survived by his children, Joshua Ingram (Grace); his daughter, Josi Krivsky (Jay); his daughter, Jana Smigielski (Troy); and his seven beloved grandchildren; his mother Dorthy Ingram; his brother, Timothy Ingram (Hope); his sister, Cynthia Dunn; his sister, Christy Eason (Les) and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Scott, known affectionately as “Pappy,” was born in Boaz, AL, raised in Memphis, TN and graduated from Overton High School in 1979. Shortly after, he began a lifelong career as a licensed optician, where his care and skill made a lasting impression on countless people. For the past 12 years, he served as a Vision Center Manager at Walmart, where his wittiness, genuineness, and expertise touched co-workers and customers alike.
He was a proud member of Central Church and a man of deep love — for his Savior, Jesus Christ, for his family, his pets, and the simple joys of life. Whether he was out in his yard starting a new project, cheering on his beloved Memphis Tigers, or sharing a laugh, he brought energy and heart to everything he did. His dependence on Christ and the depth of his faith grew profoundly in the last few years, especially as he lovingly cared for his late wife, Monica, who battled cancer. Scott had a gift for making people smile. His sense of humor, warm spirit, and easy laughter made him a joy to be around. Children adored him, animals trusted him, and his family treasured him deeply. He found joy in caring for his pets — especially his loyal blue heelers, Mookie and Bailey.
He was not only a passionate “Pappy”, father, and friend, but a fun, light-hearted, and intentional presence whose legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. Scott will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but we rejoice in knowing that he is now whole again, at peace in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. For those who share in that same hope, we look forward to the day we will see him again.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, June 21st at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or New Beginnings Animal Rescue.
