Becky was born on March 14, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee. She lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family, friends, animals, and the horses she loved so dearly.
She was married to the love of her life, Frank Nelson, for 46 wonderful years before his passing. Their life together was built on love, family, and shared memories that will be cherished by those who knew them.
Becky dedicated more than 30 years of her career as a radiology technician working alongside Dr. Dirmeyer, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and the care she showed to everyone she met.
Outside of work, Becky found great joy in the horse world. She especially loved western pleasure horses and had a special place in her heart for Palominos. Many of her happiest memories were spent riding, showing, and spending time with her family at local club horse shows. Her love for animals extended beyond horses to her beloved dogs, Boomer and Millie, who brought her so much companionship and joy.
Becky is survived by her loving children, Kelly (Brian) Steward and Shellie (Mark) Edwards; and her cherished grandchildren, Halie Steward (Hunter Thompson), Allison (Colton) Machu, Kara Edwards (Austin Cox), Hannah Edwards, Cody Steward. She was also joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild this August, a blessing she spoke of with great excitement.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her passion for horses, her dedication to her work, and the warmth she showed to everyone around her.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee.
Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Becky’s life and the many memories she leaves behind.
“The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:8
Though she has taken her final ride here on earth, those who love her will forever picture her where the pastures are wide, the sun is warm, and the horses run free.
