Benjamin Edwin Mitchell, 90, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born on October 11, 1922 in Stuttgart, AR., to Ira and Hazel Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Jean Mitchell, children Sheryl Mabie (Gifford) of OK., Linda Boese of Minnesota, Reggie Mitchell (Sandy) of Oakland, TN., stepchildren Barbara Logan (Jim) of Cordova, TN., Jimmy Bramlett (Debbie) of MS. and Tommy Bramlett also of MS. Mr. Mitchell leaves a combined legacy to date of 22 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Cathedral of Praise Church in Cordova, TN. Mr. Mitchell is a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Fleet as a Fireman 1st Class. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Monday, June 17 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. There will be a funeral also at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2pm.
