Betty Pirani, 83, passed away October 9 from a long illness. Betty was born to Herschel and Laura Lewis in Memphis, Tennessee, one of nine children. She was the last surviving sibling of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis. She now joins all her brothers and sisters in paradise. She leaves behind her husband of almost 60 years, Tommy. Betty was a long-time employee of Sears Roebuck Company and retired in 1999. She was an extraordinary person, making friends with everyone she met. She was always there to help. She enjoyed bowling with family and friends. She was the devoted sister, husband, mother and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph of Huntsville, Alabama, and Randy of Memphis, Tennessee, granddaughters Brandy Barboza of Fort Worth, Texas, Elizabeth Cook of Huntsville, Alabama, and Catherine Sullivan of Huntsville, Alabama. She also leaves behind two grandsons, Tony Pirani of Millington, Tennessee, and Timothy Pirani of Memphis, Tennessee.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 12th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00PM.
