Born in Gadsden, Alabama, on January 19, 1931, Sue lived a life rooted in love, faith, and service. After marrying the love of her life, Bob Wiggins, she made her home in Memphis and Bartlett, Tennessee, where they spent over 60 happy years together. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Wiggins; her daughter, Laura Van Hoozer; six sisters; three brothers; and many cherished family members and friends.
Sue is survived by her son, Robin Wiggins (Melanie); her sister, Gail Allen; grandchildren: Blake Dillon, Brittany Burnett (Jermaul), Clifford Van Hoozer, Katherine Wiggins, Anna Chandler (Mason), and Collin Wiggins; and great-grandchildren: Dylan, Logan, and Kayleise Burnett. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A dedicated stay-at-home mother, Sue poured her heart into raising her family and giving back to her community. She volunteered with organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and found great joy in teaching Sunday School to preschoolers. Her deep Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a longtime member of Raleigh Baptist Church, later known as Bartlett Hills Baptist Church.
Family and friends will gather together on Monday, June 2, from one o'clock in the afternoon until funeral services begin at two o'clock all in Lakeland Hall at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Burial will follow the service.
Sue will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and lifelong devotion to her family, faith, and community. Her legacy of love and grace lives on in all who knew her.
