Bettye Pope

Bettye Pope, 93, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away January 27th, 2021. She was born to the late R. C. and Effie Norwood on May 8, 1927 in Bixby, Oklahoma. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Irby J. Pope; and her four brothers, Avard, Demoin, Everett and Barney Norwood. She was a member of Bartlett Woods Church of Christ and a very faithful Christian and servant for the Lord. She enjoyed cooking and making bead jewelry. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and many friends.

Bettye is survived by her children, Ronnie Pope (Pat) of Ramsey, New Jersey, Marilyn Pope Davis (Charles) of Houston, Texas, Penny Pope Street (Wiley) of Lakeland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Pope (Tina) of Bartlett, Tennessee, Jenni Pope Corder (Dickie) of Madison, Mississippi, Justin Pope (Desiree) of Ramsey, New Jersey, Stephanie Pope of Ramsey, New Jersey, Christi Davis Thompson (Trey) of La Porte, Texas, Brad Davis (Kaarin) of Houston, Texas, Jared Street (Brittany) of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Jacob Street (Fiancée Baylee) of Lakeland, Tennessee; 13 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Monday, February 1st at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bartlett Woods Church of Christ, Orphan Care Ministry.
