

Billy B. Power, 81, of Memphis died from a stroke on October 18 at Methodist North Hospital. He was born May 4, 1929 in McCool, MS to Emma and Hoyt Power. Both parents died while Billy was at a very young age. He was raised and loved by his aunt and uncle, Rainey and Gay Bagwell of Ackerman, MS. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Kathleen, his sons Lee Power of Memphis, Van Power (Tracey) of Rosemark, one daughter Joy Burke (Rick) of Hot Springs, AR, four grandsons, Patrick Power and Eric Power of Memphis, Adam Power of Rosemark, Richard Burke of Hot Springs, AR, and one granddaughter Elizabeth Burke of Hot Springs, AR.
He retired from Memphis City Schools as Maintenance Supervisor. He was a member of Bartlett Hills Baptist Church, the American Legion, and a Mason. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Ackerman MS High School, Holmes Junior College, and attended Mississippi State University.
We count our blessings for having had Billy as our husband, father, and Grandaddy. He was special to all his friends and will be missed by all.
