Bruce Alexander Carter of Bartlett, TN, passed from this Earth to his eternal home in Heaven in the early afternoon of Thursday, May 2, 2024. As he found his eternal peace, he was surrounded by his family whom he dearly loved.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Walker Carter, and mother, Florence Carter, of Bartlett, TN. He leaves behind Debi, his devoted wife of 44 years; his sons, Joey (Traci) of Florence, AL, and Wes (Kaki) of Collierville, TN; along with his grandson, Camden and granddaughter, Kendi. He is also survived by his sister, Sherrill Smithey (Chuck) of Knoxville, TN; his brother, Jeff (Donna) of Collierville, TN; and his brother, Steve (Allison) of Bristol, TN; along with many more beloved family members, many dear friends, and his loving church family of Waypoint Baptist Church.
A graduate of Raleigh-Egypt High School, Bruce worked many jobs over the years. To know Bruce was to know a faithful man of God, who had a servant’s heart, and openly expressed his gratitude for each day he was here. He was known for his love of Christ, his unwavering love and support for his family and friends, along with his smile and joyful laughter. Bruce loved to work with his hands, whether it was cars, woodworking, or handiwork, he loved being able to fix things, especially if it would benefit others. When he wasn’t looking for opportunities to help his neighbors, he could be found enjoying time with family, friends, and being “Geezer” to his grandbabies.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Waypoint Baptist Church, 5586 Stage Rd, Bartlett, TN 38134. The memorial service for Bruce will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Waypoint Baptist Church.
