Buford Michael "Mike" Chipman, age 70, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Mike was born on March 15, 1951 in Memphis, TN and a graduate of Frayser High School class of 1971. He was retired from Layne and Bowler Pump Company where he worked for 25 years. After his retirement he portered cars for Avis all over the tristate area. Mike was a member of Range Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching racing and football with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Mary Chipman, two sisters, and one brother. Mike is survived by his children, William Lyn "Billy" Chipman, Amanda "Mandy" Hubbard (Dee) and their mother, Susan Chipman, three sisters, Lynn Bushart, Carolyn Wood, Patricia Hensley (Jerry), two granddaughters, Kaylee Hubbard and Madelyn Hubbard and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm pm Friday, September 10, 2021, with a funeral service to be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway Bartlett, TN 38133. Interment will follow at 4:30 in Mary's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 279 Mary's Chapel Rd Ripley, TN 38063.
