Carrol Richard Anderson of Cordova, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 12, 2022, at the age of 84. Richard was born February 23, 1938, in Salem, IL and married Lou Ann Johnson on June 30, 1957. They moved to Memphis, TN in 1963 where he attended Memphis State University, and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1969, while working and supporting his wife and four children. Richard was a member of Cordova Baptist Church and was an avid supporter of Calvary Rescue Mission in Memphis, TN, and many other Christian ministries. He loved shopping at Aldi, Sprecher’s Root Beer, and all flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream. As much as he loved these things, as well as the strong love he had for his family, he loved his Lord more. He always made sure those he encountered knew the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Richard was preceded in death by his first wife Lou Ann Anderson (2000) and his second wife Evelyn Hardin Anderson (2020); his parents, James Arvel and Emma Pearl Farthing Anderson; three sisters, Lucille Bookhout, Vivian Jones, and Elinor Johnston and one brother Wayne Anderson. He is survived by his four children, Dori McKinney (Keith) of Newport, TN, Cindy Mayfield (Charles) of Dandridge, TN, Debbie Winfield (Walt) of Cordova, TN, and Jim Anderson (Beth) of Collierville, TN; eleven grandchildren, Jonathan McKinney (Crystal), Shauna Decker (Jess), Jason McKinney (Megan), Josh Mayfield, Jessica Coghill (Scott), Anna Freshour (James), Amanda Falberg (Quentin), Brandon Winfield, Hannah Anderson, Haydn Anderson, and Hailey Anderson; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cleo Kapilla of Valdosta, GA and Rosemary Alter of Escondido, CA. His survivors also Include children and grandchildren of Evelyn Anderson who he also treated as his own.
