My heart goes out to you and your family. I planned to be at Carolyn's Mass, but got sick with the junk going around. Linda brought me a copy of it and I love the songs you chose. They have always been my favorites also. I hope the pain of her loss will soften with time and you will find peace and comfort. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Carolyn will be greatly missed.  We grew up together, going to Grahamwood Elementary and graduating from Kingsbury High School.  She was always such a wonderful friend and she had a beautiful kind and loving heart.  Her smile was contagious - making others smile with her.  She will always be remembered by me and our friends at Kingsbury.  We shall miss her a lot.  May God give you much-needed strength.  She is now in a very beautiful place with our Heavenly Father, and she is no longer in poor health!  May God bless you all and give you peace.

I met Carolyn through her membership with Bartlett United Methodist Church Fun Club.  We were together on the wonderful trip this past summer to Mackinac Island MI and shared some time together.  May God grant comfort to all of you in this loss.  Barbara Hollis

Carolyn welcomed me to the first Kingsbury Class '64 luncheon I attended and let me know who all the other people were that I didn't recognize...she knew them all!  She showed much courage and strength as she told us at a later lunch about her cancer. I extend my prayers and deepest sympathy to her family.

Sam our hearts go out to you and the family as you deal with the loss of Carolyn. You and she have been true friends to our family since we were all children together.  We pray that Christ will give you the strength to carry of the legacy of courage that she displayed during her battle with cancer.  Our love and porayers are with you.

Sam, it is at this point that the word courage comes into your life. Carolyn showed the courage to never give up the fight and you my terrier friend must also continue that courage in her name.  The children, grandchildren and even you must let her light live on within you.  Let it be the drive to live better, cherish those many memories as gifts and make new ones for her.  You have my sincere sympathy and condolences and a personal rosary said in Carolyn's name.

Carolyn and Sam are part of the foundation of our Church of the Nativity.  Loosing her is a loss to our church family but her quite strength fortified us all as the church grew from small roots in garage, back yards and Skateland to the vibrant and loving community it is today.  We thank Carolyn for her years of faith and service to our extended family and hope that Sam and the rest of the family will find comfort and help from the many arms and hearts reaching out to them at Nativity. Carolyn and I were very close friends growing up, as were our parents.  I couldn't begin to even guess the number of times I walked up the street to her house.  I can still see her mother working in the garden, and the beautiful meals she would cook for the family out of all the fresh vegetables she grew.  Carolyn and I used to sit in her backyard eating Baby Ruth candy bars and tried to see who could make their's last the longest...I think she always won!  She loved her black furry dog named Snowball. We always laughed about his name.  She also had a beagle...I believe his name was Frisky. I remember making many trips to her grandmother's house, her aunt's house, and even downtown to a newsstand next to the Peanut Shop, where a friend of her mother's worked. We were together so much. One of the few vacations my family ever took was to Florida, and Carolyn was with us.  All this seems like yesterday...if only we could go back.  Over the years, I moved away from Memphis, living in Jackson and Meridian, MS for a number of years and even Chicago for three years. We didn't see each other often as adults, but I would run into her occasionally.  The last time I saw her was at my mother's funeral last December.  She looked good, but could barely talk above a whisper.  I didn't know she had gotten worse.  I tried to find her phone number before Christmas to give her a call, but that call never happened.  I would have loved to have spoken to her one last time.  I thought of her often and had good intentions. I'm sure she will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family.

Carolyn was a cherished friend and is truly missed.  I remember all the good times we had back in Memphis and her Mississippi Mud Cake.  I could never make it as good as she could.  Sam, I know that there are no words that can console you and your family.  Our prayers are with you.  We love you..

Carolyn was a beautiful lady inside and out.  I was fortunate to have known her and been her friend for many years. I pray that time will ease pain that I know you are feeling. I genuinely share your loss.

As a child I cherish fond memories of visits with Carolyn and Sam out in Whitehaven. We'd all act so silly and just have plain old fun!

Carolyn is my sister in law. She fought the most courageous battle with cancer I have ever seen.  She gave us such beautiful examples of faith in the most trying of times.  She was so proud of how wonderful Sam was to her.  She told me that he never left her side since she was diagnosed and how patient and loving he was to her.  She was so proud of Sammy and his book and art work, Robbie and his service in the Army, Dusty and what a loving husband and father he is and of what wonderful daughter in laws she had in Catherine and Amy.  She adored her grandaughters and how sweet and beautiful they are.  Family meant everything to her and she loves them in all of eternity.  Our deepest sympathy to her family and my thanks to God for the memories of her that I will cherish.

Carolyn and I were first cousins born 6 months apart.  She was one of the sweetest, kindest people I have known.  My prayers go out to Sam, her boys and all she loved.
