Carolyn grew up in the small town of Tigrett, TN and graduated from Friendship High School in Friendship, TN. In 1951, she married the love of her life, James (Jim) Loyd Williams, and they remained happily married for 66 years until his passing in 2017.
Before and after their retirement, Carolyn and Jim spent some of their happiest times together at their home on Twin Oaks near Millington TN where they raised a big garden every year and entertained their many friends. As devoted Christians and loyal church members, Broadmoor Baptist Church was a very important part of their lives.
Family was always first in Carolyn’s heart, and she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Her gentle, loving heart was perfectly complemented by a tremendous drive and passion for living that endeared her to her husband, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her.
Carolyn is preceded in her passing by her beloved husband, Jim, her beloved parents, Thelbert and Rubye Almond, and her dear sister Ruth Quick. She is survived by her devoted sons, Steve and Tony Williams, loving grandchildren, Jason Williams, Tracey Bravo and Stacey Kolb and loving great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Dawson Williams and Preston and Jack Bravo. Carolyn will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 25 from 3-5 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. Services will be held at the same facility on Monday, November 26 at 10 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Belle Vernon Cemetery in Friendship, TN.
