Mr. Lewis was the owner and president of a computer services firm, Commercial Data Corporation of Memphis, TN, which he founded in 1968. He attended Bowling Green State University, OH, where he majored in accounting. Lewis entered data processing in the early 1960s while working in accounting and received extensive training at IBM’s Region 10 Education Centers in Detroit, MI; Toledo, OH; and Memphis, ultimately earned his professional certification.
Mr. Lewis became International President of Data Processing Management Association (Professional Society) after rising through the ranks with the Memphis Chapter. Awards include the Certificate in Data Processing, Silver, Gold, and Diamond IPA Awards.
Carroll loved being around his family and many friends. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, and was an avid UT Vols Fan.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Olivia Landess Lewis; his sons, Allen Lewis (Beverly), Mike Lewis, Tim Lewis (Karen), Jeff Lewis, Will Landess (Kelly), and Ollie Cook (Lynne); 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and please consider being an organ donor.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, from 3:00pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. After services, the family will host a reception from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
