Charles Davis Counts, 87 of Cordova passed away April 13. Charles was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was a WW II Army Veteran, serving in the 7th Army in the European Theatre of Operations, assigned to the Army of Occupation, Advanced Sector Forces in Germany. Charles retired from MLG&W after 28 years of service. He was also employed with Dillard Smith Construction. Charles was a member of IBEW, Good Friends and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughters, Joy Scott Peggy Holt (John), Jackie Posey (Henry); six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Counts. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, April 15 at Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at10:30 am on Wednesday, April 16 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial with U.S. Army honors will follow the service at All Saints Cemetery in Memphis. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
