Charlie, we are all devastated. The Hillegass family is in shock. If we had known, we would have been there. You were always the best.

Though I never had the honor of meeting you in life. I thank you for your service and eternal sacrifice for all Americans. I understand the fear of being forgotten that all service members share, due to the fact that many of my family on my mothers side are active and retired military. My grandfather, who was also a veteran who served from the end of WWII through the end of the Korean War, was alway affraid of being forgotten so I made it my life goal to make sure all veterans are never forgotten. It saddens me that no one claimed you, but I do rejoice that you are returning home to Heaven. Your friends, family, and comrades from days long since past are waiting for you. Rest easy now, for your mission is finally complete after all these years.
