Charlie had a love of airplanes and followed his dreams spending 37 years working in the aviation industry. He was a man who could troubleshoot and fix anything, always ready to lend a hand to family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his shop constructing radio-controlled airplanes and working on his special projects. Charlie also appreciated a good game of chess, wood working, and loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father who will be greatly missed.
He was born to the late Charlie and Daisy Martin on February 13, 1951 in Memphis, TN. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Brian Martin, and his half-brothers Timothy and Paul Martin.
Charlie leaves behind his loving wife of 37 years, Yolanda Martin; his children, Charlie B. Martin of Sebring, FL, Chasity Youngman of Memphis, TN, Ryan Arnold of Mt. Juliet, TN; siblings, Emma Jean Marlin of Grand View, TX, Joyce Wilbanks of Millington TN, Steven Halloway of Lakeside City, TX, David Martin of Capron, VA, Dixie Trigg of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Bradley Martin of New Albany, MS, Chasney Martin of New Albany, MS, Chris Martin of Memphis, TN, Tyler Martin of Memphis, TN; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
Due to the current health conditions and the family’s concern for others, there will be a private graveside service at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date when we are all able to gather safely. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or a non-profit charitable organization of your choice.
