MAY YOUR HEART AND SOUL FIND PEACE AND COMFORT

We have all been so blessed to have been a part of family gatherings and the fellowship with each event. My 'mentor" at these events was Charles. 
Some of my fondest memories come from just being able to spend time with him. When he attended LSU, Saturday nights were spent at "Coondaddy's"' house and  was special  because  I would sneak downstairs and he would let me  watch "PERRY MASON" with him. I remember the MID SOUTH FAIR IN MEMPHIS and Charles would lead all of us cousins around and keep an eye out for us.
I remember watching him play his saxaphone at LSU games and march on the field at half-time.
I very much remember the special connection between my father and his brother, though there was 17year difference in ages, IT WAS SPECIAL.
I am sure Marilyn appreciated all the cousins and myself running around and just being kids sometimes with them on dates. There was a "cool" yellow Mustang too that he helped Todd with and they did a great job.

Later in life I remember always being greeted by him with "What's the story". And from there, the time sharing  with him began.

Charles was a true servant of the Lord spreading the gospel through his outgoing and genuine personality.

And the stories go on and on, we love you 'Uncle Charles"

We are so thankful and blessed to have had Charles as our Uncle.

Losing someone so  loved is almost unbearable, but we can find solace in knowing he is in Our Savior’s arms .  This fact and our wonderful memories are what helps us through the grief.

Charles was the baby of his family, and being in that position myself,
I appreciated his ability to find the humor in life.  Yes, he was a responsible son, brother, husband, father, band member, employee, and friend……..BUT…….through the eyes of a little girl whose Uncle he was, he was just FUN !  That smile, that laugh, those under the breath amusing comments, and his love of FOOD were all right up my alley and he was the perfect role model to me !!!!  

His joy of life was a trait I knew I wanted.  Happiness IS a choice !!!
Life hands us all difficult times and he had his share. But, up to the last time I was able to share lunch with him, he still had that sense of humor.

Part 2

Uncle Charles was a “great” Christian man who loved the Lord! He loved attending Bellevue Baptist Church and playing the alto sax in their orchestra. In fact, when Bellevue Baptist was televised, Judy and Pete could occasionally catch a glimpse of Charles and Marilyn playing their instruments in the orchestra. That was special to them!
Judy and Pete were lucky enough to see Charles and Marilyn on September 28th at Audrey’s graveside burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Judy was able to give Uncle Charles one final hug.

To Aunt Marilyn, Todd, Lisa, Pam & all other family members,
Uncle Charles was a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be truly missed by everyone. Now, Uncle Charles is in his eternal home and he is celebrating in Heaven with all his family members and friends that passed on before him. What a re-union! They are having a large cook-out probably with barbeque ribs and corn on the cobb. His older brother, Albert (Al) and his brother- in- law, Bob, will be the main chefs attending to the grill. Grandmother Mac (his Mom) has just prepared a giant coconut cake for later. His sister, Audrey, has made the biggest batch of fudge ever to welcome Charles home. He loved his sister’s fudge!  Granddaddy Mac (his Dad) and Charles’ brother-in-law, Earl, have been fishing since dawn and caught the biggest catfish ever.  They are trying to persuade Dorothy, his sister-in-law, to please clean the catfish. She stated “ No Thanks,”  “I will make the slaw instead to go along with our barbeque”. “Cleaning catfish is a man’s job”! Later, that night, Im sure they will plan to build a roaring fire and roast marshmallows. But, maybe they will decide to make homemade ice cream instead.  That was one of their favorite things to do at family get togethers. Charles will probably request peach ice cream!
Uncle Charles was very close to all his siblings. Charles really missed his older brother, Albert, who went into the service. Audrey, his older sister, adored him. In fact, Audrey use to carry baby Charles around on her hip. Charles would always be looking out for his sisters, Audrey and Dorothy. He was very protective of them. Growing up, everyone liked to attend the Mid-South Fair. Many memories to be cherished. Uncle Charles would play with all his nieces and nephews.  Marilyn would get into the fun with him, as well.

From one McDaniel family to another ... grateful to celebrate with you the life of "Uncle Charles" whose joyous laugh was infectious. Have no doubt we'll be laughing together again in the presence of Our Savior. Know that today & in the days to come, you are prayed for -- from our family in middle Tennessee. Kristy & the kiddos, we are with you in spirit.

To Aunt Marilyn, Todd, Monique and family, Lisa, David and family, Pam, Matt and family we would like to send our deepest sympathy to all of you in the loss of a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.  I cherished my time with him at all of our gatherings and celebrations.  He walked with the Lord and he made you feel loved and accepted.   He always made all of his nieces and nephews laugh with his jovial disposition.  Please know that I carry many wonderful memories of him in my heart and he will be truly missed.
