Currie Simon Deming, 40 of Germantown, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Christian Brothers University. He loved all things sports, playing basketball from a young age through college at CBU. His favorite teams were the North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame, Atlanta Braves, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Penguins, Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Tigers, and the San Antonio Spurs. Currie was the life of the party, always inviting family and friends over to celebrate or watch sports. He loved being an American and loved politics; his favorite President was Ronald Reagan. Currie never met a stranger and loved his family fiercely. He loved his wife and dog more than words could describe.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Susan Herndon Deming and puppy dog, Jack; father, Michael Deming of Germantown; mother, Linda Deming of Germantown; siblings, Ali Saenz (Greg) of La Quinta, California and Michelle Gibson of Southaven, Mississippi; his aunts and uncles, Barbara Nowlin (David) of Cordova, Tennessee, Cynthia Martin of Riverside, Washington, Vicky Nelson of North Carolina, Steve Carter of Independence, Louisiana, Michael Owen of Memphis, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Judy Herndon of Bartlett, TN; sister-in-law, Amanda (Mike) Smith of Bartlett, TN; brother-in-laws, Douglas Herndon and Brian Lum of Spartanburg, SC; nephews, Kameron Blum and Preston Herndon; nieces, Kyra Blum and Heather Gibson; cousins Kevin Nowlin (Sarah), Kelly Tempel (John Wright), Ashlee Owen (Greg Bowers), Devan Tempel, Emery Tempel, Ewan Nowlin and Maddie Bowers.
A gathering of family and friends for Currie will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will take place Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 12:15 PM at Deming Cemetery in Toone, TN.
