Cynthia Rebecca Scoggins

Cynthia Rebecca Scoggins, a devoted nurse whose gentle hands and caring heart touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on September 26, 1954, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Cynthia was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love for her family and community.

For decades, Cynthia served as a dedicated nurse, bringing comfort, skill, and kindness to her patients during their most vulnerable moments. Her profession was more than a career—it was a calling. She approached each day with grace and empathy, offering not only medical care but also hope and dignity to those in her charge. Her legacy of service continues to live on in the many lives she brightened and the example she set for others.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Rudolph Alexander and Elizabeth Alexander; her devoted husband, Daniel Lloyd Scoggins; her brothers, Lonnie Alexander, Kenneth Alexander, Alvin “Bud” Alexander, and Calvin Alexander; and her sister, Elaine Alexander.

She is survived by her loving sister, Sybil Alexander Hays; her sons, Jon Scoggins and Steven Scoggins, along with their wives Ashley Scoggins and Michelle Scoggins; and her cherished grandchildren, Daniel Scoggins, Hannah Scoggins, Noah Scoggins, Reed Scoggins, Rose Scoggins, and Rory Scoggins. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured boundless love into every moment spent with them.

Cynthia’s life was a beautiful testament to the power of kindness, resilience, and enduring love. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the warmth of her spirit, the comfort of her smile, and the lessons of compassion she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her—forever.

Rest in peace, dear Cynthia. Your light will shine on through the lives you touched and the family you loved so deeply.

A Committal Service will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on July 1, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
