Dallas Jacob Simms

Dallas Jacob Simms, 23, of Memphis passed away Friday, December 13, 2013. He was a 2008 graduate of Germantown High School, graduate of Southwest Tennessee Community College where he made the Dean’s List in 2012, attended University of Memphis and was a well-known Memphis musician performing regularly at Newby’s. Dallas was preceded in death by his sister, Holland Nicole “Holly” Simms; paternal grandparents, Earl L. and Laverne Simms; maternal grandparents, Lonnie B. and Mary F. Kidd. He was survived by his father, Phillip L. (Gail) Simms of Murfreesboro, TN; mother, Beverly Kidd (Victor) Pressgrove of Memphis; brother, Kevin C. Simms of Southaven, MS; also leaves many dear family and friends that love him dearly. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 and a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 18, 2013 both at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to Up ‘til Dawn Program, 245 University Center. Memphis, TN 38152-3460 (University of Memphis) to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Dallas Simms.
