Mr. David Edgar Read

Services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Victory Church, 897 Angel Way, Marion, Arkansas . Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm with the service scheduled to follow at 1:00 pm.

David retired from Southern Systems of Memphis in 2011. Prior to working at Southern Systems, David lived in Henry, Illinois where he farmed. David also previously served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

David was a man of God who loved his church and family. He never met a stranger and loved all people. He could be found fishing most everyday at Horseshoe Lake.

He leaves his wife, Laura Read and one daughter, Angie Lequia, her husband Joe, grandson Robert Longman, great granddaughters, Lyla and Blaire Longman. Another granddaughter, Bayleigh Luethauser. Three sons, Jeff Read, John Ernest (deceased) and Ben Ernest (deceased). Siblings Paul Read, Alan Read, Harold Read, Susan Doyle and Carol Duke.
