Davie Lee Lloyd (Dave), aged 93, passed away on July 2, 2024. He was born on March 29, 1931 in Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mary Lloyd, his brother Emmet Alvin Wilson, his sister Mary LaVerne White, his granddaughter Ashley Nicole Seward, and his daughter Terri Leigh Kelly.
Dave proudly served in the US Navy prior to the Korean War, and was called back to serve in the Korean theater in 1951-1952 as a corpsman on the US Navy hospital ship Haven, providing crucial medical support to his fellow servicemen. His commitment to service was a defining aspect of his character that continued throughout his life. After the war, Dave started his career path and obtained education at Memphis State College, completing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Christian Brothers College. He co-founded TLM Associates; later he started Health Engineering Resources, which partnered with Drexel Toland and Associates. After retiring, Dave continued to serve as a consulting Engineer until the age of 82.
Beyond his professional life, Dave’s spiritual life was first and foremost, and he was a member of Grace Chapel. Dave devoted his life to the Lord and it was his greatest desire that everyone would know Him and ponder where they would someday spend eternity. Outside of church, Dave’s most cherished time was spent with family and friends. His love for his family was evident; their legacy is his Christian faith, love, and commitment. Traveling with Sandy was one of his greatest pleasures. The joy of riding his tractor and maintaining his property helped keep him young. Dave was an avid reader and in his retirement he loved to have Sandy read to him. He most loved having the Scriptures read, but he also enjoyed listening to biographies of our country’s founding patriots and historical nonfiction.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sandy; his son, Paul (his wife Teresa, sons William, Scott and his wife Marnie and their son Daniel); his grandchildren by Terri (Marty, Amanda and her husband Mike and their daughter Claire); daughters, Tricia Storey (her son Devin) and Jennifer Goodwin (her husband Todd and their sons Graham, Drew, Jonah, Noah); step-children, Rod Tigrett and Angie Thomas (her sons Christopher and Cole).
