Donald A. Archbold

Donald A. Archbold, age 68, beloved husband of Gayle Ann Archbold, entered into heaven Friday, October 8, 2010 surrounded by family at home.

Mr. Archbold was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH but spent most of his adult life in the Memphis, TN area. He is the oldest child of the late Donald J. and Margret E. Archbold. He served in the United States Army. He worked for Thyssen Krupp Elevators, former known as Dover, for 41 years when he retired October 1, 2009. He earned an Associate in Engineering at Ohio College of Applied Science; a BS in Engineering Technology and 2 Master of Science degrees at the University of Memphis.

Surviving family members in addition to his wife include his children: Jennifer Hodge and husband Gerald of Olive Branch, MS: Donald C. Archbold and wife Melissa of Cookeville, TN: Karen Tucker and husband Tim of Bartlett, TN: Sarah Snyder and husband Jon of Rogers, AR: including 11 grandchildren: Nathan and Zachary Hodge; Donald Cory, Vivian and Hallie Archbold; David and Ryan Stephens (Tucker); Calvin, Madison and Zella Snyder; not including a grandson and great grandson arriving soon. He is survived by his brothers James and Patrick Archbold of Cincinnati, OH with a niece and two nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mary and son Daniel.

Funeral services and interment will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133. Visitation will be Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Father Rick Mickey officiating.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Archbold. My husband and I knew him through Dover Elevators in Middleton TN. He was always friendly and very helpful. Our prayers are with the family.
