Donald E. Bailey, USN, Ret., 71, of Lakeland, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011. He was a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman, Retired, was a Vietnam veteran , having served two tours, and also worked at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for over 20 years. Mr. Bailey, the husband of Cathy Bailey, also leaves his sons and daughters in law, Chris and Teresa Bailey of Collierville and Colin and Jamie Bailey of Memphis; a sister, Lynn Grace of California; and his grandchildren, Kane, Gypsee, Noah and Ella. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 10 from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 11 at the funeral home with interment to follow in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
