Like Don Yancey, I went to school with Don for 12 years. Don was a a heckuva guy, everyone liked him and he liked everyone. I'm very sorry for your loss. Don's passing is a loss for all of us. I pray that God will fill you all with his peace. Our friend left us all with great memories!

For all Don's family, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Along with so many other Messick Panthers, Don and I went to school together at Cherokee Elementary, Sherwood Junior High, and Messick High School. Don was a wonderful friend for years, and it was a great blessing to get together again several years ago when I relocated back to the Memphis area. As a retired active duty U.S. Army Chaplain, I honor his long and valued service, and am very proud of my friend. Don was always that guy in a group whose laugh and smiles could light up a room. Even when he was extremely sick a few years ago, I visited him and the spark of life and humor was still there. Inside Don the very ill man was Don the great boyhood friend. Farewell, my friend. Your life, service to your nation, and your love to family and friends stands as your lasting tribute. You'll enrich the host of Panther friends gone before!
