Dodie Miller passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eason and Juanita Miller. She is survived by her siblings, Lee Hughes, Milton Miller (Mary), and Marsha Williams (Ed), and one niece and two nephews.
In the words of her godson, Jason, “she had funny daily rituals like always leaving her discarded sugar packets on the counter after her morning coffee or never eating eggs unless she personally spooned out the white specks from the yolk, referred to by her as the fertilizer, prior to cooking. However, she would eat a hardboiled egg without complaint. She would not eat anything with feathers. She never drank alcohol. She liked a little salad with her dressing and a little coffee with her cream. Her numerous quirks and peccadillos were quite amusing. She loved her family and friends with warmth and unconditional faithfulness. In short, she was the rarest of special gems and a blessing to all of our lives. She had an extraordinary sense of humor and was humble and personable to an extent of which only a few are capable. She is eternally a child of God.”
There will be a visitation from 9:00-10:00 am with a graveside service to follow, both at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
