Duane “Roddy” Roland Noffsinger passed away peacefully in his home in Parsons, TN on October 30th, 2021. Roddy grew up in Bartlett Tn and attended Raleigh Egypt and Trezevant High School. He went into the family painting business and worked with his father Gene for Noffsinger Painting Co. and also traveled the South east working for Petroleum Equipment Painting Company. Roddy was a connoisseur of good music and played guitar. In his thirties Roddy joined the Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept. and proudly served his community. During that time, he rode motorcycles and traveled coast to coast. His house became “home base” for holidays and many family occasions.
He suffered a debilitating stroke in 2006. He overcame many obstacles and succeeded in regaining his independence. His love for family and sense of humor carried him through the hard times. Roddy never missed a chance to sing happy birthday to those he loved. He was affectionately known as Rod the Pod and was kindhearted and easy going. He will be greatly missed and leaves a legacy of embracing life as it comes and finding contentment in it.
Roddy is survived by his three sons Joseph and Nicholas Noffsinger and Joshua Sharit and his grandchildren Roman, Sailor, Sadie and Brenden. He also leaves his father Gene Noffsinger, siblings Connie Bowden, Rusty and Gina Noffsinger and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Saturday, November 13th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
