Edith Angie Pickens, 95, of Cordova, Tennessee died Sunday November 28, 2021 at Signature HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born In New Albany, Mississippi. Mrs. Pickens worked at Shelby County Hospital until retirement. She was a faithful member of East Side Baptist Church and was then a member of Bellevue Baptist Church until her passing. She was an active member of Bellevue Woods Senior Living Community. She would be in charge of the activities that would take place at the club house on the grounds. She also would help anyone by taking them to their doctors appointments and anywhere else they needed to go.
Mrs. Pickens was preceded in death by her husband William Denver Pickens, sons George Michael Pickens and wife Barbara Ann Caviness Pickens, and James Phillip Pickens, her parents Bulah and Vera McDonald, brother Clyde McDonald, and sister Ruth Gentry.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Jimmie Helen Pickens of Bartlett, Tennessee, grandson Michael Pickens and his wife, Jen of Ponte Vedra, Florida, granddaughters Elizabeth Moss and her husband, Brandon of Atoka, Tennessee, Julie Paschal and her husband, Hunter of Bartlett, Tennessee, and nephew John H. Pickens of Memphis, Tennessee, a host of cousins, nephews and friends. She has seven great –grandchildren: Harlyn and Nash of Ponte Vedra Florida, Jason and Justin of Atoka, Tennessee, Brooke, Cooper, and Madison of Bartlett, Tennessee.
Her life will be remembered with a visitation Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9:00 AM until Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
