Elaine O'Brien Sherman

Elaine O'Brien Sherman was born September 15, 1949 in Memphis, TN. and passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026 in Bolivar, TN at age 76 in the presence of family. She was preceded in death by her father James O’Brien, mother Pattie Sain O’Brien, sister Debbie Holder, and her husband Michael Sherman.

She leaves behind her two sons Scott A. Young and his wife Letitia Young of Bolivar, TN., Neal A. Young and his wife Joyce Ann Young of Conway, AR., two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Grammy,” and her sister Pamela Holditch of Brandon, MS.

Elaine was a graduate of White Station High School, and had attended classes at Memphis State University.

In life she was owner and operator of a printing company, bookkeeper, sales representative, and her favorite job a mother.

Elaine was a fantastic cook and had a real knack for including love in every dish. All of her family and friends always commented on her sense of humor. She loved to travel. She and her husband Mike spent many vacations on cruises, and trips out west.

Elaine’s main focus was always family, friends, and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation is scheduled for July 24, 2026 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN from 1pm to 2pm. Funeral is scheduled from 2pm to 3pm followed by graveside from 3pm to 3:30pm.
