Elmer B. Church, Jr., 91, of Bartlett, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Firestone. Mr. Church, the loving husband of Kathryn T. Church for 67 years, also leaves a daughter, Vicki Leigh Dorris, a son, Gary Lynn Church; brother, Jack Church, all of Bartlett; two grandchildren, Hunter Dorris of Cordova and Cody Dorris, also of Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Mays. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday afternoon, August 9 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., with a short visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
