Eudie was born in Jonestown, MS, in 1941 to George and Jessie Graham. She grew up on a farm and went to a one room schoolhouse. Later, the family moved to Clarksdale, MS, for her father to find work. After graduating high school, she moved to Memphis and started working for Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company. After she became a mother, she chose to be a homemaker until both children started school. She returned to work as a secretary at Harding Graduate School of Religion and later retired after more than 20 years with Union Planters/Regions Bank.
Throughout her life, she had a strong work ethic, generous spirit, and a creative mind. She enjoyed growing plants, sewing, doing crafts of all kinds, and finding a bargain. She was a big fan of sports, playing tennis as a young adult and learning to play pickleball as a senior. She spent many hours eating popcorn while watching all kinds of sports with her favorite teams being the Memphis Tigers and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Eudie served many roles but her favorite role was as a grandmother. She treasured her time with Caroline and loved being her Mamu. Many memories were made, especially on their Friday night sleepovers.
Eudie was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Dawne Dodson (Jeff) of Lakeland, TN, and son, Donald Freeman (Tiffany) of Nashville, TN, granddaughter, Caroline Dodson of Memphis, TN, loving extended family, caring neighbors, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
