She was born to the late Andrew and Hettie Collier on August 12, 1929 in Paragould, Arkansas. Along with her parents, her husband, Thomas E. “Tom” Harmon; her second husband, Robert C. Ford; and 9 siblings preceded her in death. She graduated from Paragould High school and was a member of Germantown Baptist Church.
Freda is survived by her sons, Jerry Harmon (Norma), Eddie Harmon (Sandy); grandchildren, Tiffany Kelly (Fred), Nathan Harmon (Analecia), Brandon Harmon (Kassandra), Daniel Harmon (Kara); great-grandchildren, Houston, Harmon, Lynley, Leah, Lucas, Luke, Sarah, Mackenzie, Andrew; her step children, Judy Mitchell (Steve), Cherry Pickett (Gary), Russell Ford, Richard Ford, Steve Ford and their children and grandchildren; grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Germantown Baptist Music Ministry or Christ Community Baptist Church Music Ministry in Freda’s honor.
Family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Monday, July 17 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be private.
