Genevieve Boyd

Genevieve Louise Boyd, 82, of Memphis, passed away February 15, 2014. Ms. Boyd, the widow of Billy Jack Boyd, was a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren very much. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Ms. Boyd, was able to care for many other children through babysitting. She was a University of Memphis basketball fan and loved being a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church. Ms. Boyd was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Boyd and a brother, Cyril “Sonny” Hydrick. She is survived by her sons, Billy Boyd (Kathy), Buddy Boyd (Jean), and Jimmy Kay Boyd (Lori). She is also survived by a sister, Ruby Boyd and a brother, Luther G. Hydrick. She also leaves, to cherish her memory, 7 grandchildren: Elaine Twisdale (Keith), Ashley Riley (Boo), Stephanie Piefer (Todd), Stacey Pearson (Joey), Whitney Boyd, Chelsey Boyd, and Courtney Boyd as well as 11 great-grandchildren: Laura, Dalton, Allie, Blake, Kagen, Coy, Madison, Genavieve, Stella, Waylon, and Jack. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening February 18, 2014 from 5-7pm and a Celebration of Live service will be held Wednesday February 19, 2014 at 10am all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N.
