

Gerald "Jerry T-Man" Tiller, was born September 26, 1935 and passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was raised in a family of five boys and graduated from Germantown High School in 1955. He served for two years in the US Army. He retired from DuPont in June of 1992, having worked there for nearly 35 years. After retirement, he worked briefly for Discount Building Supply and for Methodist Hospital as a courier for seven years. He lived a full life, was affiliated with the Shriners, and volunteered at the Memphis BBQ Fest for twenty-five years and at the Mid-South Fair for twelve years. He was an avid fan of University of Tennessee football and enjoyed a rivalry with friends that were University of Memphis and Ole Miss fans. He was a member of Range Hills Baptist Church. Jerry will be remembered for his love for people and his willingness to help those in need. He was a good hearted and caring man who never met a stranger and would be there for you no matter what. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Tiller and Helen Conley; his son/nephew, Troyce; his granddaughter, Kristi; and his brothers, Mike and Albert. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Carolyn Tiller; his brothers, Ron Tiller (Marietta), George Tiller (Rosemary); his children, Gerald "Flip" Tiller, Jr. (Kitty), Cathy Barnett, and Kim Shelby (Kyle); grandchildren, Jonathan Tiller (Rubi), April Tiller, Tiffany Barnett (Calvin), Heather Lickteig (Clint), and Haley Gore (Jay); great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Elijah, Kayla, Ava, and Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18 from 12:30 until the funeral service at 2:00 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Memorial contributions may be sent to Range Hills Baptist Church, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
