Gerold James Blum

Gerold James Blum, from Memphis, TN went to be with his Creator on December 19, 2013. He left this world peacefully in his sleep and awoke in Heaven. Gerold was born on June 1, 1995 in Germantown, TN. He accomplished, in such a short time, what many only dream of. Gerold lived out his life the way God intended, as read in Matthew 25:21. After graduating from St. Benedict at Auburndale in May 2013, Gerold received a highly respected Army ROTC four year scholarship, as well as the Emerging Leaders Program Scholarship at the University of Memphis. Gerold belonged to St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Cordova, TN. He lives on through his family: mother Barbara Wright Blum, father Gerold (Jerry) Blum, and sisters, Emily Blum and fiance Brian Singer and Nicole Blum and fiance Tyler McGlaughlin. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jim and Corrine Wright of O'Fallon, IL and Marilou and Jerry Blum of Belelville, IL, along with many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and the love of his life, Ainsley LeBlanc. Funeral arrangments are being handled by the Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Parkway. The visitation will be held on Sunday December 22, 2013 from 5-8PM at the Memphis Funeral Home and the funeral Mass will be on Monday December 23, 2013 at 10AM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or American Heart Association.
