

Glenda Bright Rust, 67, a resident of Conway Arkansas was taken home on beautiful angel wings to her heavenly father on August 4, 2013. She was home surrounded by her family that she loved so dearly. She had suffered from severe health problems these last few years but she fought a good fight and kept her faith strong. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and she missed being able to attend services where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs. Glenda or Mrs. Rust, received her early education from Westside High School. After working many years in the accounting field, she returned to further her education whereby she was a graduate of Memphis State University receiving a Bachelors of Professional Studies Business Law/Human Resources, Magna Cum Laude, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Dale Carnegie Institute. An astute business women and successful entrepreneur, she opened Bright Professionals Inc. (a job placement company) and Bright Computer Specialist. She was awarded the Memphis and Mid. South Small Business Award of the Year for her great contribution to the Memphis job market and employment. She was also awarded the Key to the City of Memphis by Mayor Dick Hackett for service to the Commission to bring industry to Memphis, along with being appointed to the Tennessee Labor Law Commission by Governor Don Sundquist, member of Junior Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Accounting Management, Human Resource Managers Association, Arkansas Institute of Real Estate, and American Business Woman’s Association where she held many offices including President and awarded Business Women of the Year. Although she was a very astute and accomplished business women, she enjoyed working with her flowers, reading various books especially John Grisham but most of all she loved her family. She was born November 13, 1945 in Ripley Mississippi to Henry Blair Bright and Eva Lee Rogers whom have preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her siblings, Roger Bright, Dan Bright, and Charlene Cooper, and a special niece, Sheila Kay Akers. Mrs. Rust is survived by her loving husband Bobby Rust of Conway AR., whom she married on July 2, 1992, only loving child Lisa Gayle Upshaw and her husband Mark Upshaw of Hot Springs, AR., three adoring grandsons, Justin Byrd, Andrew Byrd, and Reid Byrd all of Hot Springs, AR., four great-grandchildren, Andrew James Byrd, Evan Byrd, Blakely Annabeth Byrd and Payton Grace Byrd all of Hot Springs, AR., two sweet step-sons, Jeff and his wife Amy Rust and Brad and his wife Brandy Rust all of Memphis, TN., and four precious step-grandchildren, Haley Rust, Kendell Rust, Bradley Rust and Savannah Rust all of Memphis, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8th from 5-7pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. There will be a funeral on Friday at 2pm also at the funeral home.
