Glenn Wilbur Pierce, 95, of Byhalia, MS, went home to be with his Lord on June 14, 2024. Glenn was born at home on a small farm near Overton, Nebraska on September 19, 1928, to the late James Edward Pierce and Alice Musser Pierce. He was the youngest of five children who have all preceded him in death. Edna Pierce, his beloved wife of 76 years also preceded him in death on April 6, 2024, a little over two and a half months prior to Glenn’s passing. He is survived by his two sons and daughters in law, James & Judy Pierce and Doug & Valerie Pierce. He is also survived by his legacy of 10 grandchildren and 18 great grands.
Glenn was a dedicated Christian and a faithful member of Christ the Rock Church in Memphis, Tennessee for several years. He was also a devoted family man, who provided well and loved his ever-growing lineage dearly. Glenn had an unusual ability to build, fix, and repair broken items and this attribute is part of his legacy passed to the next generation.
After Glenn retired from Arizona Public Service, where he worked as an accomplished mechanic, he and Edna served with SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready). Together, they traveled the country in their RV helping with service projects at schools, camps, churches, and wherever people needed assistance. His ability as a mechanic helped get vehicles running, appliances working, housing and schools repaired, as well as a chance to serve others with his unique expertise.
Glenn leaves behind several generations who carry on his love of God, family, and country. He wore many titles of son, brother, husband, Dad, Grampa, and Gramps, all which he carried with pride. He will be greatly missed by those blessed enough to have known him but is at peace with his Savior and reunited once again with his precious bride.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
