Born the late John Herbert and Ruby Leah Wilson in Memphis, TN, Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Christian.
As a woman of Faith, she loved to read her Bible and attend Bellevue Baptist Church whenever she could. Being saved later in life, her grandchildren were present and able to witness her being saved and baptized at Bellevue Baptist.
Gloria loved to spend her time reading; and loved all things books and poetry. She was also a talented artist and loved to draw.
A true patriot, she was proud of her country; and she worked as a clerk for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Gene Cox and sons, Robert Cox and Louis Cox.
She is survived by her children, Jeanmarie Cox and Patricia Jones; grandchildren, Joseph Haynes, Marcus Jones, John Cox, and Leigh Fazio; and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Haynes, Grant Jones, Jude Jones, Danni Jay Jones, Asher Cox, Aurora Cox, Mackenzie Davis, Riley Fazio, Lucas Fazio, and Paisley Fazio.
The visitation for Gloria will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. The funeral service will begin Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a graveside service to follow.
