

Guy Durham was born November 25, 1922 in Cahoma, TX, son of Francis Ellen Hunter and Samuel Ulyses Durham. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Betty Jo (Olive) Durham.
He enlisted in the US Army on 1/15/1941 at Ft Sill, Ok. He fought for our country in WWII in the European theatre and the Korean Conflict. His service medals include:
Bronze Star, American Defense Service medal, Army Commendation medal, WWII Victory medal, Army of Occupation medal Germany, Presidential Unit Citation, Korean Service medal, United Nations Korea medal, (5) Overseas service bars, National Defense Service medal, Bronze Star (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster). Lt Colonel retired after 27 years of Military service on February 1, 1968 at Ft Benjamin Harrison in Indiana.
He is survived by his children Kathy Durham of Memphis, Stephanie Durham Wilson, (Gai) of Knoxville, Guy Durham II, (Anita) of Memphis, his grandchildren Lindy Wilson Waddell, Jason Wilson, Adam Wilson, Lauren Durham, Christopher Durham, and John Durham, and his great grandchildren; Parker, Marley Jo, Ellison, Gracie, Garrett and Davis.
Pallbearers will be Guy Durham II, Christopher Durham, John Durham, Gai Wilson, Jason Wilson and Adam Wilson
The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm, on Wednesday, January 31, 2017, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN 38133.
