

Harold H. Perry, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Harold was born in New Albany, MS on November 4, 1934. He met and married Mary Helen in Memphis, TN where they began their lives together and reared four children. He began what would be a long career in the field of metal fabrication at Southern Boiler and Tank Works in 1953. His work ethic, leadership ability and outstanding performance led to a classification of Industrial Boiler Maker. In 1967, Harold combined his ability and knowledge with two partners to form Plant Maintenance Service Corporation. Harold took a great sense of pride in the company and its success and loved and treated his employees like family. His work ethic and dedication to the company was unmatched and remained that way until his final days. His professional accomplishments include several certifications and memberships with many societies. In addition to his many professional accomplishments, his greatest triumph in life was loving and leading his family. He was also an active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. Harold loved cooking for family and friends and competed in numerous barbeque competitions over the years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending his weekends hunting and fishing at his tree farm in Mississippi. He was the patriarch of the Perry family in every sense of the word and Harold leaves to them a lasting example of a kind, hard-working, Christian man. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.G. and Mayzelle Perry and a son-in-law, Gene Summerhill. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Helen Perry; four children, Debbie Timbs (Norman), Becky Summerhill, Rusty Perry (Ginnie) and Christy Houston (Stafford); six grandchildren, Wesley Summerhill, Dustin Timbs, Wendy Chambers, Ashley Leopard, Karley Perry and Emmy Houston; two great- grandchildren, Landon Timbs and Mia Chambers and a sister, Judy Billingsley (Hubert). A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Family and friends will gather beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
