Hilma Suratt Harrison, 87, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Houston Harrison. Mrs. Harrison is survived by her children, David Harrison and his wife Melissa both of Luanda, Angola, and Donna Barton and her husband Thomas both of Memphis, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Henry Harrison and Sarah Harrison both of Houston, Texas, and Allison Harrison of Lafayette, Louisiana, and two siblings Nelda Butler of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Jamie Surratt of Gallaway, Tennessee. Mrs. Harrison was a former employee of Shelby County Schools and a member at Faith Baptist Church. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 15 from 5pm to 7pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The funeral will be the following day, Monday at 2pm also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or the Memphis Union Mission.
