Hilton Wimbs

Hilton Wimbs, 84, of Memphis, passed away after a long illness on August 19, 2015. Mr. Wimbs was the loving husband of Mary Nell Wimbs for 63 years. He was the father of Tory Wimbs (Sondra) and Ty Wimbs (Judy). He was also the loving grandfather to Chris Wimbs (Kim), Lauren Edwards (Trevor), Carly Gray (Paden), and Josh Huskisson, as well as the great-grandfather to Brody and Piper Wimbs and McKenzie and Tucker Edwards. “I Love My Job Hilton” was a manufacturing representative for Bassett Furniture Industries for 58 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved meeting people, never meeting a stranger. He and Mrs. Wimbs loved to travel, visiting all seven continents in his life time. He was a member of Whitten Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 24 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett. Several years ago, the Bassett field sales team wanted to honor their colleagues who had passed away. Through contributions from Bassett salespeople, a memorial foundation was established to provide an educational fund for qualifying children of Bassett associates.
