

Born on August 29th, 1946, Duncan attended high school in Nashville, TN before relocating to Memphis. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Duncan built a successful career in finance. Working for Union Planters and later retiring from American General. He was known for his wonderful stories, quick wit, and his gift for making every one laugh.
A devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Duncan loved serving and volunteering with many ministries within the church community.
Duncan was a loving husband, father and friend. He met the love of his life, Kay Dysart. And together, together they shared 44 beautiful years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Kay Dysart, his parents. Howard Holmes Dysart and Bessie May Dysart. His father-in-law, JB Russell, mother-in-law Jane Russell and sister in-law Shirley Yancey. He is survived by a son, Russell Dysart, brother-in-law Summers Yancy. Niece. Annie Townsend her husband Jeremy Townsend 2 great nephews, Eli and Toby Townsend and best friend Dave Jolley.
Duncan's joy for life, kindness and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Howard will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 31, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Friday, October 31, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
