Jacob Aron Rhudy, 22, of Memphis passed away at his home unexpectedly on January 27, 2014. A graduate of Gateway Christian School, Jacob had received Certification as a Personal Trainer from the National Federation of Personal Trainers. He was passionate about body building, always pushing himself to the limit, and looking forward to a career as a Personal Trainer. An amazing musician, Jacob mastered several instruments without any formal instruction, just one example of his proficiency at any task he challenged himself with. His imagination and creativity were remarkable. He will best be remembered by those closest to him as seemingly shy, yet possessing an uncanny ability to bring humor to any situation. He was preceded in death by his father Gregory “Greg” Neal Rhudy and grandmother Bobbie L. Rhudy. He is survived by his mother Vickie Grinder Rhudy, brother Neal Rhudy, fiancée Kristi Bryant, grandparents Edward and Tena Grinder (Memphis) and Porter O. Rhudy (Williston), Uncles and Aunts Dan and Susan Grinder, Fred and Brenda Grinder, Terry and Cynthia Ray (all of Memphis), Barbara Hayman Humes (Williston), and countless other family members and friends who will carry memories of Jacob’s music, humor and determination. His family will receive visitation from friends and family on Friday, January 31 at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 North Germantown Parkway from 6:30 until 8:30. A celebration of Jacob’s life will be held Saturday, February 1 at 2 p.m. at the same location. The family asks that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org.
