James Brittain Carroll

April 15, 1964 - September 2, 2026

James Brittain Carroll, 62, of Memphis, TN, passed

away peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by

his loving family. Born on April 15, 1964, Britt was a

devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and

friend.

Britt is survived by his four children, Chase (Anna),

Logan (McKenzie), Amy and Glyndon (Hannah); three

grandchildren; life partner, Cherie Dillon; sisters, Libby

and Angela; and many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws,

relatives and friends.

Britt was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Samantha M. Dykes Carroll; his parents Dr. Glyn O. Carroll and Nancy Cross Carroll; and little sister, Amy. To those who knew and loved him, Britt was so much more than the roles he held.

He was a faithful husband, dependable father, loyal friend and someone who gave his heart freely. His greatest legacy is the love he had for his family. The memories he created and the impact he had on those around him will live on through the people who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Britt will be laid to rest privately by his children at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Garden. A memorial service in honor of Britt’s life will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Ellendale Baptist Church 3861 Broadway Rd Bartlett, TN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00pm.

The family invites everyone who loved Britt to join them following the service for a Celebration of Life at 540 Drivers Rd Mason, TN.
