James was born October 19, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late, Edmund Harold Lillie and Verble Juanita Singleton Lillie.
James was the founder of the credit union for Wesson Foods (ConAgra) and retired from ConAgra after 31 years of service. He was a Golden Glove Boxing Champion in the 60’s and 70’s and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, singing but most of all he loved God, his wife, and daughters. James never met a stranger, and will be missed by all who knew him.
James will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda; his daughter, Rhonda Clark Hieber (Scott), his kitty cat, Baby Sister and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaDonna Lillie.
The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm all at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens.
