James Hillery Scott, 71, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2015. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 25, 1943 in West Helena, AR. He was raised in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annette, two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was a firefighter for the City of Memphis for 28 years. He was also a long-distance steel hauler for Consolidated Cargo Carriers for 27 years. An avid fisherman, Reelfoot Lake was one of his favorite places to fish. He and Annette enjoyed scuba diving and sailing in the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, and Bora Bora in the South Pacific. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6pm – 8pm and the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2pm, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett. Interment will follow in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
